Dear Diary, this is BRIDGES TO PROSPERITY

Tina is a civil engineer from Sweden who works and lives in Rwanda. Huldar is mechanical engineering student from Iceland. And they are both Scouts who DOVE-host Jakob met in Norway.
This DOVE episode shows the magic that can happen when strangers who are enthusiastic about creating a better world come together to serve as volunteers at a Scout event.
They don’t only talk about the organization Bridges to Prosperity, an organization that Tina used to volunteer and now works for, but also about why approaching even the toughest jobs with fun is so important.

Dear Diary, this is VOLUNTEERING IN UKRAINE

When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 András literally dropped everything to help out in the Zakarpacie region where Hungary borders with Ukraine. In this episode of the Diary Of Volunteers on Earth he tells a powerful story of making an impact on other people's lives, being grateful for what we have and most importantly: stepping into action!
András is a student, professional firefighter and Scout and he talks about how why it was clear to him, that he needed to help and how his passion for Scouting equipped him even better for such a situation than fire-fighting.

Dear Diary, this is HOME AWE WILDLIFE!

Welcome to perhaps the wildest entry into the Diary Of Volunteers on Earth ever. Not only because this DOVE episode is dedicated to volunteering experiences with wildlife but also because of Lana, the guest in this episode. 
Lana is as energetic as they come and definitely brought the energy to this episode. She also shares her biggest passion with DOVE-host Jakob: Animals!  Lana talks about her life as a zookeeper and how she started hosting volunteering experiences for HomeAwe, a platform dedicated to inspire especially Palestinians to volunteer.

Dear Diary, this is HOME AWE

The story of how HOME AWE came into existence is an astounding one. Founder Yazan and Noor, one of the Home Awe volunteers and team members, talk about how volunteering has changed their lives and what brought them to Bansko Nomadfest, which is where we also recorded this entry into the Diary Of Volunteers on Earth. 
But they also talk about what it means to be a so-called 48' Palestinian, holding a passport from Israel. How they've struggled with their own identity and the feeling of being a forgotten demographic. This is a DOVE episode like no other and I hope you will learn and grow from listening to it.

Rarely has there been a guest on the Diary Of Volunteers on Earth that has such a profound and nuanced understanding of volunteering as Holly. In this DOVE-episode we explore the connection between volunteering and our life's purpose, why white saviorism is sometimes not that obvious and whether or not there really is something like absolute altruism.
Holly tells us about how a volunteering project at University of Manchester has shaped her whole life as a student, how she became so passionate about volunteering and what role power plays in all of this.

Milz in einem Plastibeutel? Im Regen tanzend auf einem Tresen in Thailand? Was hat das alles mit Volunteering zu tun? Selina ist gerade erst 19 Jahre alt geworden und bereist seit fast einem Jahr alleine die Welt und strotzt nur so vor Mut! Und sie scheut auch nicht davor, einen Einblick in die Herausforderungen und Schattenseiten des Volunteering zu geben.

Dear Diary, this is (Lord) DAVE BADEN-POWELL

Dave Baden-Powell is the great grandson of Robert Baden-Powell, the founding father of the Scout Movement. Founded in 1907, the Scout Movement together with the World Association for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts has over 65 Million active members, supported by millions of Volunteers. The aim is to empower young people around the world - regardless of their identity - to make the world a better and, as Dave puts it, a happier place.
Scouting and Guiding is one of Jakobs greatest passions, so when he met Dave at the 10th National Jamboree of Sri Lanka (a large gathering of Scouts and Guides) it was obvious to record a Podcast about not only Scouting and Guiding at large but also about Daves personal experiences of what it's like to be Lord Baden-Powell and where else he's been volunteering.

"Patenfamilien für Kinder psychisch belasteter Eltern" ist eine steirische Initative gefördert vom Gesundheitsfonds Steiermark. In diesem Eintrag in das Diary Of Volunteers on Earth ist sind neben Koordinatorin Alima auch Karl und Jutta zu Gast. Das Ehepaar in Ruhestand ist seit mehreren Jahren die Patenfamilie für Zwillingsgeschwister. 
Sie erzählen von ihren Erfahrungen als Pateneltern, warum weniger im Kontext der Patenfamilien manchmal mehr ist und wie sehr einem die Kinder auch etwas zurück geben können. Alima bereichert das Gespräch mit ihrer fachlichen Expertise zum Thema mentaler Gesundheit und psychischer Erkrankungen.
